Today is the day that we have all been waiting for! The opening of "Where the Wild Things Are"! I can not wait to see what Spike Jones has done with one of my favorite childhood stories. This story has a special place in our families hearts as it was a bedtime staple when our son was growing up.
Urban Outfitters experimental retail space, "Space 1520" in Los Angeles has a WTWTA Pop-Up shop this month. I think the highlight of the shop is Christian Joy's 5 one-of-a-kind costumes that are inspired by Maurice Sendak's characters in WTWTA. You might know Chirstian Joy's work if you are a fan of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I am pretty sure that just about everything that Karen O has ever wore on stage was designed by Christian Joy.
www.christianjoy.usSpeaking of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.... Karen O did an amazing job on the movie's soundtrack. You can listen to the album in full at Pitchfork.
